Getting started
Signing in
Open kink.town and sign in with your full address, yourname@fll.kink.town, not just your username. New members get a one-time invitation link to create their account first.
Encryption
Private and group chats are end-to-end encrypted as are small voice / video calls. "Large call" rooms that use the Galene proxy for performance reasons are not. The first time you sign in it may take a moment to set up your encryption keys before you will be able to send your first message.
Voice and video calls
If nobody can see or hear you in a call, your browser or network connection is probably blocking WebRTC. In most browsers there is a setting that you can toggle to allow this. VPN browser extensions often have a “WebRTC leak protection” switch which you will need to turn off for kink.town to allow calls to work.
Apps and clients
Kink.town is powered by the Movim XMPP web client and ejabberd. You can install this web app via your browser on most phones and operating systems, which will allow a better experience and notifications to work when the page is closed. This is the same mechanism as Fetlife uses.
